Welcome to Brahm Vivah ("we", "us", "our"), a matrimonial platform dedicated to the Brahmin community. We are committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of all users who access our mobile application and website.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using the Brahm Vivah app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect the following types of information when you register and use the app:

We do not collect GPS/real-time location, contacts, call logs, or any background data.

We use the information collected solely for the following purposes:

• Account creation and authentication — to register, verify, and log you into your account
• Profile display — to show your profile to compatible members of the Brahmin community
• Identity verification — to review submitted documents and approve genuine profiles
• Matchmaking — to help you find compatible life partners based on your preferences
• Communication — to enable secure messaging between mutually matched users
• Notifications — to inform you of interests received, matches, and messages
• Safety & moderation — to detect and prevent fake, abusive, or fraudulent accounts
• App improvement — to analyse usage patterns and improve features
• Legal compliance — to comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

Your profile information is shared only as described below:

• With other verified members: Your name, age, city, education, occupation, religion, and photos are visible to other logged-in verified members for matrimonial purposes.
• With our admin team: Our team reviews submitted documents and photos for verification. This access is restricted and confidential.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority in India.

Your identity documents, mobile number, and address are never shown to other users.

• Encryption in transit: All data is transmitted using HTTPS (TLS 1.2/1.3)
• Password security: Passwords are stored using bcrypt hashing — never in plain text
• Server location: Data is stored on secure servers in India
• File storage: Uploaded photos and documents are stored in access-controlled private storage
• Access control: Only authorised admins can access sensitive verification documents
• Session management: JWT tokens expire automatically to prevent unauthorised access

We retain your data for the following durations:

• Active account data: Retained as long as your account is active
• Deleted account data: Permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Chat messages: Retained while the account is active; deleted upon account deletion
• Verification documents: Retained for compliance purposes for up to 1 year after account deletion
• Activity logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security monitoring

As a user of Brahm Vivah, you have the following rights:

• Access: View all your profile information within the app at any time
• Update: Edit and update your profile, photos, and preferences from within the app
• Delete account: Request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Withdraw consent: Stop using the app at any time; your data will be retained per our retention policy above
• Block users: Block any user directly from their profile within the app
• Profile visibility: Manage what information is visible to other members via profile settings

The Brahm Vivah app requests the following Android permissions:

All permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked from Android Settings at any time.

Brahm Vivah is a matrimonial service strictly for adults aged 18 years and above. We do not knowingly collect, use, or store personal information from anyone under 18.

If we become aware that a user under the age of 18 has provided personal information, we will immediately delete that account and all associated data. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately at support@brahmvivah.shahtspl.com.

The Brahm Vivah app does not currently integrate any third-party advertising networks, analytics SDKs (such as Google Analytics or Firebase), or social login services.

The app communicates exclusively with our own servers at brahmvivah.shahtspl.com. No user data is sent to any third-party service.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable laws. When we make significant changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• Notify users via an in-app notification or on next login

Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
